Flea market preview. . . cool junk!

Starting to get ready for flea.o.logy,

digging out the really cool junk. . .

Like this protractor from a
WWII-era map-reading instruction kit.

I  t  '  s     f  i  v  e     f  e  e  t     i  n     d  i  a  m  e  t  e  r  .  .  .

Hmm, what would people say when they saw this on your wall!

Or. . . how about this round metal cagey thing?
It's only about 18 inches across,
a more manageable size.

Hmm, what could you make with this?

Like locker baskets?
Still has its number tag.
Lots of rust, lots of charm.
Check out those holes on the sides.

Hmm, what could you store in this?

Come see this cool junk and lots more in my booth at the

flea.o.logy Flea Market

Junking. . . jewelry style

I've been cleaning out my craft room,

which means I can get to my craft supplies,

which means I can start making junk necklaces again.

Woo hoo!

Taps are always a favorite element.
This one came from the garage of my good friend's dad.

A silver hanging thing with a blingy thing.
A little bling is always good.

At the bottom, a vintage ladies' watch.
Always include a ladie's watch. . .

and voila. . . a junk necklace!

*   *   *   *   *

And now. . . the challenge is
to keep the craft room
clean enough to
make more. . .

                                                                                                  Wish me luck, please!

What you take with you. . . Merry Christmas!

Merry 60's Christmas!

These photos of my grandfather, my big brother and me
are some of my sweetest holiday treasures.

Thought I would share them with you.

Hope they bring a smile to you

Isn't she lovely. . .

Sarah. . .

Origin: Hebrew.
Meaning:  Princess.

In the Old Testament,

Sarah was the wife of Abraham,

and the mother of Isaac.

Her name was first Sarai ("my princess"),

which God changed to Sarah ("princess")

as her descendants were to be

the future nation of Israel.

This is our Sarah. . .
15 years old and
most certainly a princess.

Pink hair and all.

She likes books, dogs, horses, friends. . .
and she is starting to notice boys.

She's learning to cook,
she plays tenor sax in the jazz band,
and she doesn't like to dress up.

Her room is purple and green.

She hates algebra and loves seminary.

She has an ever-growing collection of animal hats.

She loves to text her friends,
talk with her friends,
be with her friends.

She's a daddy's girl. . . .

And,
even though
she's growing up,

she's still our little princess.

Back to blogging again! . . .

       Hello friends. . .

If you'll take a peek at my last blog entry, you'll see that it was about a
really big yard sale.

Well, that sale was SO big that it took over my life.

For a couple of months.

And then the month after it too, with getting sick and cleaning up from it.

And now, Christmas at our house is in danger of being late. . . .
It won't be, but it feels like it.

In the meantime, I've missed you.

But I'm back now, so hello!!

One of my favorite holiday memories as a child is lying under
the Christmas tree for what seemed like hours,
staring up into the twinkling lights,
wondering what was inside
each wrapped box.

May you enjoy each moment this Christmas season. . .

Do you like really big yard sales??

These three pairs of shoes are just a few of the hundreds of donations so far
for my daughter's school fundraiser,

a Really Big Yard Sale!

Since I'm in charge of it,
and just about everybody is tired of selling
chocolates,
and magazines,
and coupon books,
and this,
and that
door-to-door -
I decided to propose a yard sale instead.

Something I kind of like doing.

And the principal and the PTA board went for it.

And it's gonna be HUGE!

Wanna come?

3 Dotters Vintage Rentals. . .

I have this amazing friend who has:

  • an incredibly talented, patient and creative husband,
  • three vibrant, life-loving daughters (dotters),
  • a house that should be on the pages of Flea Market Style magazine,
  • a job that keeps her so busy that you wonder when she breathes,
  • a sparkle in her eye and an infectious laugh,
  • more talents than is fair for any one person to have (*wink*), and
  • a crazy-magic love of all things vintage.

Meet Jen.    Jennifer Reed

Jen and her sweetheart, Nat, are opening the business they've dreamed about.

3 Dotters Vintage Rentals

They're going to rent all this amazing vintage stuff they've been collecting to folks having parties, weddings, showers, and other fun events.

Need a shabby door?  Check.   Milk glass vases?  Check.   Suitcases?  Need you ask?

They've asked me to photograph their inventory.  Woo hoo. . . what fun!

So here's a few of my favorite photos so far.

You can contact Jen and Nat on their Facebook page, 3dottersvintagerentals,
or on Jen's blog, http://3reeddotters.blogspot.com.
Jen is also on Instagram, look for 3dotters or 3dottersvintagerentals.
